About

I love photography. I love cameras, film, and the texture of paper.

Whether it’s working with toy cameras and traditional film, transferring instant film onto exotic art papers, printing images in a wet darkroom, or sitting in front of my computer processing digital images, I love the creative process involved in all of these endeavors.

The digital darkroom has enabled me to create images that I once could only dream of and that were beyond my technical capabilities using traditional methods. Though I am leaning more and more towards digital capture and digital manipulation, I still love working in a traditional wet darkroom.

Photography has been a life long pleasure. The desire to create images with the possibility of making a living from it has been a dream of mine that goes back farther than I can remember. I have been blessed with the capacity to be able to pursue this dream and I give thanks to God for this gift.

The pursuit of this dream also came about after the loss of my wife Didi Stuart to cancer. Many people helped my sons and me get through some very tough times and with the loving help and guidance of Hospice Austin we were able to provide a place of love and comfort in our home for Didi’s last days. Since then I have been able to pursue my passion for photography and realize a dream come true.

In memory of Didi, and as a token of my appreciation for their help, 5% of all sales of my photography will be donated to Hospice Austin.
